The Honourable Nicholas Biwott understood that education was the key to ensuring a better future for Kenya. During his lifetime he helped to educate thousands of young Kenyans. In 2008, his commitment to improving the quality of education inspired him to establish The Mbegu Trust.

Since his death in 2017, the organization has grown to include a student mentorship program that provides scholars with support including tutoring, musical instruction, fitness, farming, a reading program and working closely with their school’s administration.
